We know that fleet vehicle advertising can boost a company’s name recognition by up to 15 times more than some other advertising media. Impressive; and even more so when you add this to the fact that an American Trucking Association study discovered that a magnificent 97% of respondents recalled their test vehicle ad. It’s also true that fleet wraps are a terrific one-cost, long-term advertising format, and can last for five years if well maintained.

So, a good idea. This is why so many companies have a fleet of vehicles carrying exactly the same message across their geographical business area. This is a perfectly good, and as we have seen, proven method of powerful promotion.

However, it isn’t the only one. The Eddie Stobart distribution company in the UK, many years ago, starting calling each of their vehicles by a different girl’s name, posted on the front of the vehicle. This tiny difference, among other marketing techniques, led to motorists trying to notice as many names as possible (they now even have a fan club and online shop).

The point of this example is that, if you have a company that offers a range of services, then why not use each vehicle to promote a different one of them? Of course, you’d use a consistency of colour, type-style and design across each vehicle, to aid recognition. It’s also likely that part of the message, such as logo and contact details, would also be identical. But the rest of the wrap could then offer a more outstanding promotional opportunity than including every detail on each vehicle.

Using your website, you could then back this up with a promotional campaign, letting current and potential customers know what you have done. Local media might even show an interest, especially if you could provide images of your fleet. Take this a step further: how about a fun public involvement encouraging people to post photos of each vehicle in different locations? If your fleet comprised of only a few vehicles, you might offer some kind of prize for people who submitted a full set.

This could be a way of garnering low-cost, long-term publicity, with a fun element, adding to the visibility of your fleet. If you’d like to discuss how this could work for your van or truck wraps, please call us on 3234644990 now.
